I was in Madrid for a coupe of days before I took that supersonic train they have to Barcelona. I envy the year-round supply of vitamin D that the locals enjoy while the northern hemisphere walks hunched in bulky scarves (not that I don't love a good thick scarf), hands thrust deep into pockets, the diet-friendly meal portions, the Zara and Mango palaces, the "use and throw" bikes, and perhaps above all, the luxury to go and stare at the Goya paintings live any lazy afternoon and stumble upon a Gaudí masterpiece at every other turn.
